Hi I've just come across your blog and I've never seen a woman hanging with hooks from her knees before and I really wanted to ask why? I'm so curious.
I’ve been doing suspensions for 5 years and I still have a hard time with this question. It is a very centering experience that can generate an extreme state of euphoria for some people, it is just fun to swing around for others, some do it for meditation like purposes, and some do it just to say that they have or can. I, personally, suspend for a combination of those reasons. Recently, I started doing suspension shows for an audience and that’s just for fun. It’s an excuse to dress up and do something that I enjoy doing already. It really changes the experience to be in front of a crowd but I would (and I do) still suspend even if I didn’t have spectators watching.
I made a documentary about suspension that explains it more in depth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTkGWQzQAsE
Hope that answers your question, at least a little.
